2006 Dedication Ceremony

A dedication of seven new markers installed by Boy Scout Troop # 323 was held 11 a.m., Saturday, October 7. These markers replace seven almost illegible Civil War veteran markers. The veterans who received new stones are:
Mathew Black
George B. Milholland
Henry House
Daniel McCartney
Joseph Couch
William Quigg
Thomas Boss

Bagpiper Ryan Stephenson opened the event with Amazing Grace and Margaret Jackson, president The Historical Society of Mount Lebanon, gave a welcome speech.

The opening and closing prayers were led by The Rev. Dr. Robert E Walkup. State Senator John Pippy spoke and The Rev. Dr. Robert Maravalli, of Mt. Lebanon United Presbyterian Church, presented the dedication.

In addition, Eagle Scout Robert Ryan (Boy Scout Troop 323) delivered the Gettysburg Address and senior patrol leader Brice Very led the Pledge of Allegiance

After the wreath laying, The 9th Pennsylvania Reserves performed a three volley salute and Troop 323 Bugler John Tkach played Taps.
