The Frew Family

Charles Frew was born in Randalstown, Antrim, Ireland in 1774 to John and Rachel (Glover) Frew. Sometime before the age of 25, Charles came to America, wedding Sarah Carnahan about 1799 in Pennsylvania. Sarah was the daughter of Agnes and David Carnahan. According to family records, all Charles and Sarah’s children were born in Crawford County. Of their six children, two are known to be buried here-John, who died in 1831 at the age of 31 (he was married to Elizabeth Long), and William, who died Feb. 14, 1820 at the age of 13. William’s mother, Sarah, died five months after he did (April 2, 1821) at the age of 45. Charles died at age 89 in Union Township. The executor of his will was William Carnahan.
